About Our Camp

Does your pet need a place to play the day away? Or an overnight stay so you can go away? Come to Royal Acres Pet Camp! You won't be disappointed and neither will your pets! We accommodate dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and other pets.

Our pet camp is designed with your pet's needs as a top priority. Our philosophy is that dogs need exercise and socialization, with both people and other dogs, in order to relieve excess energy and the stress of being away from home. A tired dog is a happy dog!

We have found that dogs which are able to play in group settings with large areas to romp have a much better boarding experience with less stress and also have better appetites. This helps to make a more enjoyable vacation for both you and your pet!

Jean Reeves, owner, has been involved with dogs in various activities and events since 1986. Her daughter, Miranda, joined in shortly thereafter. We have raised some of the top White Shepherds in the country, training for therapy work, obedience, agility and herding.

Miranda is a Purdue graduate with a BS in Animal Behavior and Well Being. Rescue work is also one of Miranda's priorities and we usually have one or two dogs of various breeds available for adoption.

Royal Acres Farm consists of 60 acres, 40 of which are wooded and make an excellent area to exercise the dogs. It is also the home of 12 White Shepherds, 2 Pugs, 4 horses, 40 cows, 12 sheep and 6 cats.

This is a view of the personal outdoor areas. All outdoor runs are covered by a roof so even on rainy days, dogs can still enjoy spending time outside.

This is a side view of the large play yard. This is a roughly one-acre fenced area. The dogs have access to water at all times and there is shade provided by the many trees throughout the area.

All dogs are turned out into the play yards either individually or in a group with other dogs of similar personalities for exercise and playtime at least four to six times per day. Our daycare dogs as well as our overnight guests have access to outdoor and indoor play areas most of the daytime hours. The indoor playroom is shown below.
